I would like to start this week by sharing a study eMarketer and Adobe released yesterday. The study clearly shows a massive shift to prioritize Content Marketing. In fact, Content Marketing now is listed as the Number 1 Priority among client-side marketers. This should not be a surprise to anyone who is paying attention. I believe 2013 will go down as the year Good Content came back. Or at least I can dream right?
I think everyone got so wrapped up in optimization (SEO) and distribution (Social Media) that people forgot the “make something worth a damn” part.
Brian Clark wrote a blog post where he suggests that you Get Over Yourself and Get On Google+. As a side note, that is a great example of how to write a headline. Even if you hate Google+ you still want to click that link.
I honestly have ignored Google+ until recently and I kind of regret it. I have over 20,000 followers on twitter and I basically dreaded the thought of another social profile to update. I am sure many of you feel the same way. However, if you read this blog I assume you are into SEO, Content Marketing and Social Media.
Google+ is a fantastic place for you to be. The key is to join communities that you are interested in and start to engage. Once I did that I found Google+ to be very refreshing.
Here is a link to a few Google+ Communities I currently really enjoy.

So what are you waiting for? Give it a try and I think you will like it.
Continuing with my Google+ theme, Matt Cutts has a video out where he talks about how to Setup Google Authorship. What I find really interesting is that Google comes right out and says in this video they would like to use AUTHORSHIP as a ranking signal in the future.
You can bet your ass that they are working very hard on this so make sure you get on board now.
That is all for this week. Enjoy reading!
